Job description
Reset Tech seeks to appoint an experienced practitioner with a background in politics that can design and manage research products focused on digital markets that shape and inform public communications and policy planning in Europe. Leading an internal team of research analysts (as well as a variety of technical vendors), the Director will identify opportunities for collaboration with electoral stakeholders, offering them detailed insights into the online environment and relevant digital threats, highlighting key risks and actionable data. This is both a political and research role, sitting at the intersection of technology and democratic outcomes. While this role will prioritise engagement in EU member states, the work will involve some projects in non-EU geographies (excluding the US).
Reset Tech is committed to being an equal opportunity employer, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment for all. We are dedicated to selecting the most qualified candidates for each role based on professional and cultural add, regardless of gender, race, skin color, nationality, ethnic or national origin, marital status, disability, religion or beliefs, age, or sexual orientation.
We recognise the value of diverse skills and unique lived experiences. Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed below, we encourage you to apply if you’re excited about this role.
About us
Our mission is to support a “reset” of the relationship between media and democracy in the digital age to ensure that publics are more informed and less divided. We seek to neutralise the threats posed to democracy by digital media monopolies and restore the power of information technology as a force for effective self-government.
In practice, Reset Tech is a hybrid organisation. We are directly engaged in research, policy development and advocacy. We also serve as a multi-donor, managed fund using a directed investment model to redistribute the capital of its donor partners to highest and best use against a common strategy. Sitting within a federated structure of practitioners and aligned funders, the agility of this core fund is used to rapidly deploy networked capacity and expertise to capitalise on real-time developments in different parts of the world.
We believe elevating the quality of the public debate and restoring a baseline of shared facts will make real progress more likely for every major challenge facing the world today -- from climate change to racial justice, economic inequality to public health. Reset Tech is an independent, coordinated network of not-for-profit organisations operating around the world.
